Ralph E. Wiley

Ralph Edward (Curly) Wiley, 78, of Washington R. D. 4, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 1986, in the Humbert Lane Health Care Center, Washington.

He was born September 3, 1908, in Amwell Township, Washington County, a son of Neil and Fanny Crouse Wiley.

He had attended grade school at Rogersville and was a 1927 graduate of Rogersville High School. He attended Waynesburg College and Pennsylvania State University. Mr. Wiley was a self-employed carpenter, working in Washington and Greene counties for many years.

He was a charter member of the Amwell Township Volunteer Fire Company, a past school board member for the Amwell Township schools, and a member of the Amity Grange.

Mr. Wiley was also an active member of the Lone Pine Christian Church, where he served as an elder, Sunday School superintendent and teacher.

On December 31, 1936, he married Mary E. Booth Wiley, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Norma Jean Wiley of Alexandria, Va.; two sons, Edward Linn Wiley of Alexandria, Va., and Robert A. Wiley of Springfield, Colo.; nine grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Wiley of Waynesburg; a sister, Alice Johnson of Ashtabula, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Three brothers, Willard C. Wiley, Lloyd Wiley and Fred Wiley, are deceased.
