Allen Wise
Retired PennDOT employee worked construction Allen "Abe" Wise, 80, of Hundred, W.Va., formerly of Bristoria, died at 9:27 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 1998, in Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, W.Va., following a six-week illness. He was born July 22, 1917, in Bristoria, a son of Albert Stanton and Rosa Lee Thomas Wise. Prior to his 1995 relocation to Hundred, Mr. Wise had been a lifelong resident of the Bristoria and Richhill Township areas. He was a member of the Claylick United Methodist Church. He had been a farmer and had been employed in construction in his younger years. In 1979, he retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, where he had worked as a laborer for 22 years. On November 6, 1939, he married Ruth Pauline Stockdale, who died September 20, 1981. On February 7, 1983, he married Mary Lois Hull Parson, who survives. Also surviving are two stepsons, John V. Parson Jr. of Paden City, W.Va., and Ronnie Lee Parson of Waynesburg; one sister, Gladys Hewitt of Cameron, W.Va.; three stepgrandchildren, Jason Alan Parson, Kiley Ann Parson and Kristina Jo Parson. Deceased are two sisters, Blanche Finch and Alberta Rinehart.
WISE - Friends of Allen "Abe" Wise of Hundred, W.Va., formerly of Bristoria, who died Saturday, February 14, 1998, will be received from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, with the Rev.
