Mildred Iona Wood

Mrs. Mildred Iona Wood, 51, of Carmichaels R.D. 1, died suddenly at 6:55 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 1972 in Greene County Memorial Hospital following an apparent coronary occlusion. She had been in usual health.

Born June 11, 1921 in Franklin Township near Waynesburg, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ada Morris Phillips. She was the widow of the late J. Harry Wood, who died September 23, 1970.

With the exception of 11 years which she spent in Washington, she lived all her life in the Waynesburg area. She was for the past few years, employed at the Curry Memorial Home.

Mrs. Wood was affiliated with the Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Dale A Wood, of Washington; Sgt. Roger G. Wood, on the U. S. Air Force assigned to the Castle A. F. B. in Merced, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Janet) Pryor, of West Alexander R. D. 1; five grandchildren; and a brother, Russell Phillips, of New Castle.

Funeral services were held Sunday with burial in Rosemont Cemetery.
