WILLIAM ZIMMERMAN
William Zimmerman, 84, of Spraggs, R. D. 1, died at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 1967, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for some time and seriously ill for the past few days. A son of Henry and Caroline Headlee Zimmerman, he was born June 6, 1883, in Wayne Township, near Spraggs, and had resided all of his life in the Spraggs area. Mr. Zimmerman was a retired farmer and stockman. He was a member of the Spraggs Methodist Church and had belonged for more than 50 years to the IOOF Lodge, at Blacksville, W. Va. Surviving are his wife, Goldie Hixenbaugh Zimmerman, whom he married May 8, 1909; five daughters, Nellie, wife of Donald Garee, of Scenery Hill, Mable, wife of Russell Hillberry, of Scenery Hill, Cecyle, wife of Lee Wise, of Brave Star Route, Florence, wife of Truman Cavert, of Spraggs, and Clemmie, wife of Edison Longstreth, of Washington R. D. 4; one son, Robert E., of Spraggs, R. D. 1; one daughter-in-law, Edna, wife of Carl Strawn, of Waynesburg; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. D. A. (Ocie) Yeager, of Waynesburg, R. D. 2, and two brothers, Charles and Vincent, both of Waynesburg. Two sons, George and Charles Edward, one grandson and several brothers and sisters are deceased.
